The last couple of days Ive been walking all over Angel and Islington- witch was quite a mission! Though fun, I feel like I really get to know the city on a new level through this project, something that on a personal plan brings the experience to a diferent level.
One thing is the churches I take pictures of, but I alsmost find the people I see and meet, the parks, the archtiecture, the overview of the city just as important. Now that Ive been studying church signs for a while, I also find my self beeing much more aware of sign and poster design in general. Everywhere I go I keep on seeing facniating signage, and I find myself beeing able to categorize and spot a "good", "bad", "designed" or "undesigned" sign much faster then earlyer.
One thing I find interesting is that there are no signs that look the same, and even though they look similar the typographic rules seems to be all over the place very often. There is ofcourse a lot of midranged signes, but Ive also found signs that are both left, right and mid ranged in one! facinating..
My Favourite sign in the silington/ angel area, was a church sign on the border of camden borough at Camden Road Baptist Church with this amazing text: " " OH GOD! NO GOOD?? GOD. NO! NOW WHAT? GOD KNOWS.. KNOW GOD. YES YOU CAN! HE IS."
