Feedback

Email to and from Paulus:

Hey Paulus,

I have gathered most of my work on my blog, from beginning to end and including basic information about my analysing prosess.
As you can see I still dont know exactly how my end result will be, and there is still A LOT of work to do.

I will present the photos as a collection as one piece (similar to what I showed you), but the designed piece is still not resolved

I have diferent thoughts about what I wish to do. I still feel there are so many difernt ways to go with it, and its hard to find one to go for

among my thoughts are these:

1: Develop my text/ content hierachies work into posters or book- using a system similar to what I have done where I can show my research about design, technical and linguistic charcteristic though graphi bades colour coding and shapes.

2: Make book focusing on the text that are based on religious quotes and information ( not name of the church and opening times etc), maby make new posters using diferent versions of typefaces used in the signs

3: Make a process book about my journey with the project (similar to what we talked about on the last crit, corporationg things like post cards/ interviews/ info grpahics etc)

4: Web based/ interactive design (information design)

... and many more..

I feel it is important that the anti design and qurkyness (and uglyness) of these signs gwts corporated in the final result somehoow. It should not end up beeing to slick and clean. Afterall those factors are one of the main asthetic factors that you can see all over the church signs.

Its hard. What I know is that I have come to the point where I can call myself an expert in the field of church signs and DIY signage, and that its been a very interesting and learnfull proces. How to pull it all together in one week still feels like a very tough process..

Hope to hear from you soon

Have a great weekend!

Bjørnar

This is what I got back:

Bjørnar, I am amazed!

The stuff look really promising!

With regards to your list of outcomes:

2 and 3 are crucial. Then 1 and lastly 4 ( but I, personally, am least intrigued by 4).

Keep going and pull it all together into a good format. That’s hard I agree, but that’s where you can shine as a designer. This is close to MA stuff!
