Books

Ive been trying to read and look for books thats related to my subject to get a wider understanding and maby some new perspectives on how to go further with it.

I bought all these three books on Amazon, and thyve all been a great inspiration and help:

book 1:

THE GREAT BOOK OF AMERICAN CHURCH SIGNS by Donald Seitz:
Photographic book by a man who has droven all over the states and photgraphed hilarious church signs.

book 2:

CHURCHES by David Spero:

This is a photographic book about church comunities around london, with the focus on the building. The "churches" are all among those who are located in warehouses etc, and not traditional church buildings. Most of them located in east, far north and south London, mostly carismatic churches. Really nice book, and luckily my friend Nia told me about this book really early in my project, as I at one point was thinking about doing the exact same thing as Davis has done.

Book 3

AMERICAN SIGNS, FORM AND MEANING ON ROUTE 66, by Lisa Mahar

This book is an analysis about the diferent hostel cigns located on route 66 in the states. it goes through themes like form, typeface, symbolism, abstractions, spezialisations, symetry, geometry etc etc. Its text based, bought it two weeks ago and alsmost finsihed with it now. Very interesting in relation to my analysises of the church signs.
